Energy Analyst Role Description

We are recruiting a Senior Analyst to join our Strategic Clients Team. This is the first rung of a development framework which should eventually lead to becoming a Consulting Manager where you will be the trusted advisor to a number of large companies that spend £1m to £20m per annum on electricity and gas.

As a Senior Analyst you will take responsibility for contract management services for a number of our clients. This will involve working closely, and developing relationships, with colleagues, clients and energy suppliers.

Reporting to a Consulting Manager, the focus of the role will be to provide a high-quality service to the clients with responsibility for:

  • Liaising, communicating and resolving issues and tasks internally with account managers and consultants, and externally with energy suppliers
  • Recording all issues and tasks in an issue management software package for reporting work delivered back to clients
  • Resolving energy bureau tasks and dealing with supply contract queries and issues including change of tenancies, site additions and bill validation
  • Helping to deliver projects, for example AMR roll outs

In order to carry out these responsibilities it will be necessary to develop strong relationships with energy supplier contacts to facilitate the prompt resolution of contract management and bureau issues. It will be essential to be pro-active and have creative problem-solving abilities to resolve issues promptly.

Key Skills & Experience

  • A minimum of 2 years of utility industry experience or someone with university qualifications and a keen interest in energy and environmental markets
  • Self-starter, highly organised with strong time management skills
  • Strongly client focused with a desire to help your clients reduce their costs and carbon footprints
  • The ability to juggle the requirements of multiple clients at the same time
  • Have a capacity for hard work, will persevere to make progress and deliver results
  • Good attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Good Excel and general IT skills

We are recruiting a Sales Support Analyst to join our Mid Market Clients Team.

As a Sales Support Analyst you will take responsibility for contract management services for a number of our clients. This will involve working closely and developing relationships with colleagues,
clients and energy suppliers.

This position could eventually lead to becoming a Consulting Manager where you will be the trusted advisor to a number of large companies that spend £250k – £2M per annum on electricity and gas.

Reporting to a Consulting Director, the focus of the role will be to provide a high-quality service to clients.

Main duties include:

1. Pre-sales support

  • Requesting updated Letters of Authority (LOA’s)
  • Where appropriate, load client data into the auction platform and prepare quotes for clients
  • Supporting the Consulting Director and working closely with the Tendering team to conduct client auctions for new business and renewals

2. Post-sales support

  • Liaising, communicating and resolving issues and tasks internally with account managers and consultants and externally with energy suppliers and customers
  • Recording all issues and tasks in an issue management software system for reporting work delivered back to clients
  • Resolving supply contract queries and issues
  • Working closely with the Client Services team to provide services to clients including:
     Change of tenancies
     Site additions
     Bill validation
     Budget forecasting
     Reporting
  • Other project work as and when required

In order to carry out these responsibilities it will be necessary to develop strong relationships with energy suppliers, colleagues and customers to facilitate the prompt resolution of contract management and bureau issues. This role sits in the tendering & service delivery team and will provide support for Beond’s client. The job role will focus on building knowledge about Beond, clients, processes, and the industry. It will encompass data administration for our core services and client query management, as well as supporting the tendering team in peak periods if necessary.

The core service delivery areas are driven by the client’s requirements, and are listed below:

Supply Contract Management

  • Processing all meter additions and meter closures (managing the COT process with suppliers where applicable)
  • Arrangement of MOP and DA/DC contracts

Supporting the periodic reporting

  • Client’s current energy spend (including work which may be used to set budgets for clients)
  • Renewal Cost forecasting
  • “Letter’s into account” reporting
  • Energy management reporting
  • Hedge Position/Commodity risk reports
  • Meter Optimisation reporting (available supply capacity versus actual load, including power factor calculations)

Invoice Validation

  • Chasing suppliers if invoices/credits are missing
  • Processing invoice data into our in-house validation systems
  • Analysing the results and ensuring that files are ready to be sent to clients
  • Ensuring any queries on incorrect invoices are raised and resolved through our issue management software
  • Meter Optimisation reporting (available supply capacity versus actual load, including power factor calculations)

In addition, during peak periods the Energy Bureau Analysts will be expected to support the tendering team:

Procurement (Gas, Elec and Water)

  • Support the auctioneers with loading supply offers into our in-house systems
  • Cross-checking tender summaries
  • Compiling data to assist when running tenders for new clients
