We are looking for a target focussed, commercial sales manager with strong coaching skills to help build a new team at Beond. This team’s primary aim is to open up warm opportunities in the public, industrial and commercial sectors, setting up software demonstrations and/or meetings for the sales team to attend and close the sale. It is not essential to have energy industry experience. This is an exciting opportunity with great potential to further your career both professionally and financially.

You will either be a very experienced telesales professional looking for the next step up, or someone that is already mentoring or managing a team of telesales representatives.

You will be responsible for hiring and developing raw talent where the initial responsibility is lead generation only. Your coaching style and development plan will be designed to equip them with all the skills required to become a fully-fledged energy sales consultant. You will be responsible for coordinating, and where appropriate, delivering the learning and development framework to ensure the hired talent progress to the next stage of their career.

It is expected that the manager may need to lead by example in the first 12 months, by generating leads alongside the team, when time allows.

Main duties include

  • Creation and execution of targeted campaigns to commercial and public sector organisations to assess their appetite to use our services
  • Scheduling demos/qualified appointments where there is tangible interest in our services
  • Work with the marketing and commercial teams to create and run targeted campaigns
  • Coordination of cleansing data and sourcing new leads in the relevant target markets
  • Achieving daily and monthly KPI targets
  • Ensure the team follow up unsuccessful or rescheduled calls in a timely fashion
  • Ensure the team keep up to date notes on the company’s CRM system (SalesForce)
  • Post demo/meeting review to assess ‘appointment quality’ and next steps
  • Work with the relevant consulting directors to trial new ‘hooks’ and ensure consistency of sales message
  • Ensure there is full commitment to the learning and development framework both for yourself and the team
  • Manage the personal development plan for each team member, providing high quality coaching and guidance on the job and also in separate development sessions
  • Keep up to date on products, services, and market news.

Essential competencies, skills & experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years B2B telesales experience
  • Minimum of 3 years in a coaching/mentoring capacity
  • Must have experience of setting appointments for software and/or professional consultancy services.
  • Proven experience of leading and driving prospecting campaigns
  • Task focussed and also a passion for coaching
  • Experienced in managing databases and client lists
  • Analytical in your approach and assessment of campaigns
  • Highly motivated, persistent and focused on delivering real results
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Very comfortable with accountability
  • Very strong sales opening skills and techniques
  • Experienced of managing data driven campaigns
  • Fast learner- ability to develop deep product knowledge in order to effectively explain our services to consumers.

Desirable competencies, skills & experience:

  • Previous experience of the gas, electricity or water markets
  • Managing the recruitment process
  • Sales closing experience
  • Coaching qualifications
